A walk in my neighborhood yielded two discoveries today: I witnessed a Park(ing) Day intervention at the Los Angeles Eco-Village.

I’ve been admiring the Park(ing) Day project (started by collaborative group Rebar in San Francisco) for a while, also mentioning it in my book Reclaim+Recover. It was great to be able to see these temporary gardens pop up in Los Angeles for one day.

I had never heard of the Eco-Village before. It’s exciting to have this community, which seeks more cooperative and ecological living patterns, right around the corner.
